The 8th New York State National Guard Impression
This is the uniform as closely as research allows and studying photographs for the 8th New York State National Guard uniform.
The kepi is copied off of the 7th New York SNG which was the same style kepi worn by the 8th NYSNG. The jacket features nine New York State seals running up the front as well as eight smaller ones for the black trim. The trousers are trimmed in black as well. As far as equipment, the white belt with a militia buckle, however during the Pennsylvania Campaign, the men may have worn the black set of trimmings for their accouterments. They would have worn a the hard pack knapsack.
